Zhulazhagamaodao Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Inner Mongolia-Ningxia border region. The Zhulazhagamaodao Fm was named by Zheng Shaochang (1973), which was published in Ningxia Compiling Group for Regional Stratigraphical Scale (1980), Regional Stratigraphic Scale of North China. The type section is located at north hills of Zhulazhagamaodao in Alxa Zuoqi, Nei Mongol Zizhiqu (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region).

Lithology and Thickness
The Zhulazhagamaodao Fm consists of flysch-like beds of gray, gray-green metamorphosed sandstone, argillaceous limestone, gray-black siliceous slate interbedded with light gray argillaceous slate. The thickness is 500-900 m
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The basal silty slate of the formation contacts in fault with the underlying Haishenghala Fm
Upper contact
The gray thick-bedded limestone at the top of the formation is unconformably overlain by Quaternary sediments. Regionally, the next younger unit is the late Ediacaran Zhengmuguan Fm.
